Blue Toad Detective Agency

From their modest head office in the proud, noble City of London, the Blue Toad Detective Agency strikes fear into the hearts of ne’er-do-wells throughout the kingdom and beyond.  Administered with terrifying, yet ever-polite practicality by Mother, Blue Toad is a gathering place for the very best private detectives, amateur sleuths and dedicated champions of justice that Great Britain has to offer.  Having just extended membership to their first foreign investigator, the Blue Toad Detective Agency shows no sign of slacking in its determined battle against the forces of evil criminality wherever they lurk.

Lambert Vandenbosch

One of the original recruits to the Blue Toad Detective Agency, the celebrated detective Lambert Vandenbosch is as known for his impressively manly moustache and astonishing cravats as he is for his keen mind and astounding deductive powers.  A champion of logic, famous for solving the Puzzle of the Perfidious Pantaloon Python, Lambert Vandenbosch does not actually come from Belgium.  Despite his accent, he is in fact from Selby in North Yorkshire.  Perhaps this explains his ongoing campaign to make moleskin fashionable once more.

Miss Marjorie Maple

One of the most fearsome of Blue Toad’s agents, Miss Marjorie Maple is renowned for having extracted the confession of Morris ‘Throttler’ Derby in eight seconds flat.  Her dagger-like elbows, lethal crochet needles and equally sharp mind have made Miss Maple the bane of criminals everywhere, and of the Harrold’s January sales.  Marjorie was one of the first two agents ever recruited by Blue Toad, and remains an insightful mentor to new recruits.  Marjorie Maple – champion of justice in a purple twin-set.

Hannah Dakota

Clean-cut, sassy and only slightly nauseating, young Hannah Dakota is the Blue Toad Detective Agency’s first recruit from the former colonies.  Dakota received her invitation on her ingenious and determined solving of the Dilemma of the Discordant Debutant.  Perpetually enthusiastic, Hannah can apparently ‘rope and tie a steer’.  Whether this mysterious ability will ever assist this outstanding junior detective in her activities remains to be seen, but she has already greatly assisted Blue Toad investigations in Great Britain so her qualifications are not in any doubt.

Richard 'Dick' Dickens

A connoisseur of ginger beer, possessor of a remarkably refined palate, spunky Richard Dickens – Dick to his pals – is a credit to the fine tradition of British public schools.  Despite the fact that before his voice broke Dick Dickens could only be heard by dogs, he solved the Case of the Curious Curate in a remarkable six minutes, rendering crumpets in the boys dorms safe once again.  Despite his ill-advised knitwear, Dickens is a brilliant detective with a dazzling future ahead of him thanks to the mentoring of senior Blue Toad detectives and some jolly effective acne medication.
