Hi SciBoy,
The solution given at the end of the puzzle does have ducks on a diagonal, but they are not corner to corner as this is not allowed. This is why it is rejecting your solution when you put ducks in a diagonal from corner to corner.

It says clearly in the puzzle that each row, column AND DIAGONAL should have one duck. Yet in the solution given there are no ducks in either diagonal. In fact, if you provide a solution where there IS a duck in both the diagonals, your solution is rejected! Why is this? -
